When Ben and I were listening to the Audio Research preamp over the weekend, we were listening through Wilson Audio Sophia speakers. This was the first time either of us had heard any speakers from Wilson Audio, so it was cool to be able to hear them. They were really sounded nice. Their bass control was fabulous, very smooth and well controlled. I felt that the highs were extremely detailed, though I felt they were a little dry at times. The information they conveyed, however, was extreme. The Sophias are the at the low end of the Wilson floor standers, and they go way up from there, and I can only imagine what the higher end speakers sound like. Wilson has quite a reputation in the audio world, and after reading so much about them it was terrific to finally be able to hear them.
