Measurements

My friend John sent me a link to this article in Stereophile. I know it is pretty old, but I still found it fascinating. There has always been a debate about tubes vs solid state amplification, and this article offers some empirical evidence as to what we subjectively hear when we listen to tube amps and solid state amps. The evidence to me seems pretty convincing, but the article also has responses from readers both supporting and refuting the original article. It becomes a conversation on the issue with what I think is some great evidence as to the why of the tube/transistor debate. Check it out.
